Augusta B. Snead

Augusta B. "A. B." Snead Augusta B. "A. B." Snead, 76, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on Sunday, February 14, 1937, in Bedford County, a son of the late Gilbert Henry Snead and Louise Cadd Snead. He was a retired employee of Bedford Weaving and was a member of Terrace View Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Army National Guard. Surviving is his wife, Shirley Jean Feagan Snead; two daughters, Dolores S. Powell and husband, Doug, of Powhatan, Glenda S. Overstreet and husband, Terry, of Bedford; two sons, Paul R. Snead and wife, Brenda, of Lynchburg, Michael A. Snead and wife, Lenna, of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Ethan Snead, Jason Overstreet and wife, Laurie, Tracy Jackson and husband, Josh; a great-granddaughter, Elaine Jackson; five sisters, Brenda Krantz of Huddleston, Nancy Compton, Lucille Smith, Catherine Calloway, all of Bedford, Jane Beale of Evington; four brothers-in-law, Sherman Feagan, George Feagan, Delmar Feagan, Robert Feagan. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Bedford Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 161, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. Friends may call Tuesday after 12 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bedford
