Mrs. Bettie J. LaPrade of Nathalie, Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the age of 94, at her residence. She is now with her father in heaven.
She was born on April 28, 1931 to the late Samuel Walker Jennings and Lue Ethel Jennings in Nathalie, Va.
She was educated in the Campbell County School System and was a graduate of St. Paul's College class of 1952. She ended her 35-year career as a teacher at Sydnor Jennings Elementary School.
She is survived by her son, Sherman A. LaPrade (Kim) of Nathalie, Va. and her grandson, Samuel I. LaPrade of Brookneal, Va.
Her public viewing will be held at Jeffress Funeral Home in Brookneal, Virginia on June 27, 2025, from 12 to 6 p.m. Her homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Nathalie with interment in the church cemetery. Her body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.
Funeral Services are provided by Jeffress Funeral Home of South Boston, Virginia.
