Clara Billingsley Obituary

Elder Clara Lena Billingsley Elder Clara Lena Billingsley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2011. She was the wife of the Late Perry Billingsley, Sr. Born March 22, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, the seventh child of eight children born to the union of the late Reverend William E. Lassiter and Annie Pearl Logwood Lassiter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She leaves to cherish fond memories seven children: Margaret Chieves and Sarah Chieves of Philadelphia, PA; Paulette Romney (Norman) of Bowie, MD; Deborah Williams of Atlanta, GA; Perry Billingsley, Jr., of Atlanta, GA; Darsella Billingsley of Washington, DC; and Teresa Billingsley of Lynchburg, VA; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Mabel Harley of Philadelphia and Sarah Phillips of Tampa, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her church family, The United Holy Church of America, Inc., where she served as an Elder for over 30 years.

A service in celebration of Elder Billingsley's life will be held on 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Tree of Life Ministries, 2812 Greenview Dr., Lynchburg, VA, Pastor Mike Dodson. The family will receive friends on Friday, at the Davis-Turner Funeral service from 6 - 8pm, and at other times at 6012 Pawnee Drive, Lynchburg, VA. Interment will be at the Tree of Life Ministries Cemetery in Bedford, VA. Condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner.com. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
