Dana Beckhouse Obituary
Dana Doss Beckhouse, 47, of Old Grist Mill Road, Appomattox, died on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at her residence. She was the loving wife of Chris Beckhouse.
Born in Lynchburg, April 17, 1974, she was the daughter of Wanda Ferguson and Dennis Edwin Doss. Dana was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served in the nursery, helped with Bible school and the sound equipment room. She was a Long-Term Care Estate Resolution Representative for Genworth.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two children; Ava Beckhouse and Chase Beckhouse of Appomattox; and grandfather, Harry T. Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Ferguson; father-in-law, Larry Beckhouse; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Beckhouse; paternal grandmother, Margie Doss Reider; and grandfather, Henry "Dee" Doss.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Moore and Pastor Art Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

A void, a loss, a numbness ... November 13th, a day I've added to my journal, a day to remember, the loss of a friend, way too early. Tuesday, as we laid you to rest, family and friends gathered to celebrate a beautiful mother, wife, daughter, and dear friend; Dana was truly an inspiration of the goodness we all strive for. Her tone was like a breeze on a warm day, bringing you comfort just by being in her presence and now an angel watching over all of us as we do this thing called life without her. From the moment we walked into the church until the last tray of food was put away, I could feel the love that inspired in all of us. I watched as stories were shared, tears were shed and hugs were given ... you were genuine, you were the definition of grace, you were you, Dana, the one we will always cherish in our memories ...
