Doris McGibbon Obituary
She was born in Lynchburg on January 8th, 1937, to the late Winnie Viar (Juanita) and Lawrence W. Campbell. Doris was preceded in death by her daughter Juanita Doss Poindexter and brothers Nelson and Lawrence Campbell. Left here to cherish her memory are her loving son, Finley Jackson Doss III, her grandchildren Lindsey Poindexter-Jackson, Melissa Hill, Sara Poindexter-Stulgaitis, Chris Byerly, Christin Brinkley, Finley (Jack) Doss IV and her great grandchildren Skyler, Abbi, Regina, CJ, Summer, Kayley, Desirae, Kai, Ariana, and Kassel.
Doris loved and worked with small children throughout her adult life. She was an avid gardener/reader and loved History. She was always happiest when her hands were in the dirt. She grew the most beautiful gardens. Doris was an incredibly special person that always operated in a "cup half full" mentality. You could always depend on her to find the bright side in all things. Her favorite expression was "Have a bright sunshiny day!"
Doris will forever be loved and missed by her entire family. She is deeply rooted in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Awareness Garden on April 16,2024 at 1:30 p.m., 1700 Old Langhorne Rd Lynchburg, VA 24503.
