Doris Lee Britton Tweedy

Doris Lee Britton Tweedy, age 69 of Lynchburg, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie (Armistead) Britton. She was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis B. Moore and one brother, Franklin R. Britton.

She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a watch care member of the Evergreen Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Deacon Henry Edward Tweedy Sr. of the home; two daughters, Elouise "Jean" M. Randolph (Albert) of Rustburg and Donna Tweeedy Davis of Lynchburg; one son, Henry Edward Tweedy, Jr. of the residence; one brother, Andrew L. Britton, Jr.(Winifred) of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Rachel B. Yuille (Mural) of Roanoke and Betty B. Kain (Ferdinand) of Lynchburg; two sisters-in-law, Patricia W. Britton of Washington D.C., and Pauline T. Nowlin of Naruna; five grandchildren, Albert Randolph Jr., Andra Randolph, Jarith Davis, Amber Davis, and Marshall Davis; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Rissie Robey; one aunt, Liza Baker; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the daughter's residence on 203 Wayne Drive in Lynchburg, VA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 12 noon at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Brookneal with interment at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Naruna. Condolences may be emailed to Jeffressfh@aol.com. Arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home And Cremation Service of Brookneal.
