Ethel Childress Holt

Ethel Childress Holt, 87, formerly of Gladys, died Saturday, August 19, 2006, in The Carrington. She was the wife of the late William Branch Holt.
Born October 6, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Florence Owens Childress and a member of Edge Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, James H. Holt and John S. Holt, both of Gladys and Carroll Wayne Holt of Vinton; three daughters, Ann Rosser of Lynchburg, Marjorie Guthrie of Gladys, and Nancy Duff of Atlanta, Ga; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Morgan Holt Sr.; two grandchildren, Angela Leigh Duff and Christopher Allen Holt; two brothers and four sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Wesleybury United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Andy Grose and the Rev. Carlton Duck.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Finch & Finch, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Gladys and other times at the residence of her daughter, Marjorie Guthrie, 1809 Whipping Creek Road, Gladys.
