Franklin Metz Obituary
Franklin Hunter Metz, Sr., 77, of Forest, VA, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was the husband of Bonnie Lou Epperson Metz.
Born in Lynchburg, VA on June 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Onyx S. Metz and Arlene Litchford Metz. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. Frank retired after 37 years from Babcock and Wilcox.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children, Franklin H. "Hank" Metz Jr. and wife Amber Evans Metz, Julie Metz Kershner and husband, Jim Kershner, and Frosty Metz Peto and husband, Raymond J. Peto, Jr.; six grandchildren, Steven Ricciuti and wife, Brandi, Hunter Metz, Suzy Metz, Frances Arlene Metz, Makynna Campbell, and Ruger Tyree; two great-grandsons, Mason Ricciuti and Bennett Ricciuti; and numerous nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, O. Richard Metz.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at Trinity Methodist Church officiated by Rev. John Flood and Rev. David Drinkard. Burial will follow in Early's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home.
