Gary and I were very good friends and shipmates in VF-33, aboard the USS Independence. He was the most faithful and kind person that I knew at the time. A true and genuine Nice Man and Great American. We both made 2nd Class Petty Officer at the same time when the Navy only promoted 26 AD2s Navy wide!

I am so sad that you are gone Gary. You and Mary always made me feel like family, and you made our furbabies your family too.
I am soo glad we had our visit this summer, and you and our Hannyhoo and Hunter got to reunite. But I am sad that we didn´t get more visits in since then.
With you and smart gone, I feel like a piece of my history is out of reach, but I feel comfort in knowing that the two of you are together again, along with all your furbabies.
Watch over us together, and I know that my babies will have both of your loving arms to run to when it´s their time to go home.
"It is what it was, what it was what it were." I can never get it right, but I have always smiled when I heard you say it so easily. As a I wrote this....I´m still so heartbroken. I wasn´t ready to say goodbye to either of you, and I never got the chance to.
Love y´all so much.
From Hannah-hoo and Butt Butt Hunter.....til we meet again.
