Georgie LAYNE Obituary
Georgie Eubank Layne, 78, of 3464 Shula Drive, Hurt, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Autumn Care of Altavista.
Born Sept. 10, 1929, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Bernard Eubank and Eva Hailey Eubank. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Short. Mrs. Layne was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, H. Leon Layne of the residence; one son, Timothy Layne and wife, Debra, of Hurt; three daughters, Patsy Hart and husband, Joe, of Sharpsburg, Ga., Wanda Jacobs and husband, Richard, of Baltimore, Md., and Etta Adkins and husband, Danny, of Hurt; one brother, Bernard Eubank of Altavista; two sisters, Dorothy Stump of Gretna and Margaret Paitsel of Clifton Forge; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Motley United Methodist Church Cemetery by Larry Owen, minister, and the Rev. Mitch Nichols.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Aug. 8, 2008, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna, is handling the arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I have many very fond memories of her at church, as I was growing up. She was so sweet..I loved her a lot. Just the other day I remembered a hug she gave me one time at VBS and I remember it was a hearty hug, really made me smile. I am praying for you all and hope you are doing well.
