Hazel Anna Stratton Jenkins, 81, our beloved sister and aunt, departed this life Aug. 14, 2008, at The Oaks of Lynchburg.

Hazel was born to John and Katherine Stratton in Campbell County. One of seven siblings, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She was twice widowed, having been married to James Coleman and Al Jenkins.

She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, East Congregation of Lynchburg. She leaves to mourn her passing her two sisters, Catherine McCoy (Earnest) and Vermont Arrington, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, with Brother Roger Gilbert officiating. Family and friends may offer their condolences 30 minutes prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, East Congregation, 319 Wiggington Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
