To a beautiful lady. You were more than just an aunt to me. You were a friend, mother, supporter, consoler and so much more to me. I will always cherish the sweet memories I have of you and know you're resting in God's bosom at this very moment. Will miss you greatly.

To the family of Hilda Mason - what a fine lady - during my tenure as president of the Lynchburgers Club of Metropolitan, Washington, D.C., Hilda would always do a proclamation for our annual affairs. When I would go by her office to pick them up, she would always talk about Lynchburg and the surrounding areas. When we had our affair at The Merritt- Hutchinson Resort she was not able to attend but said if she was able she would come because that was old stomping grounds for her. She was always interested in what was going on in our club. I enjoyed going to her office and also enjoyed chatting with her. I always went on my lunch hour which I had to extend because we would talk for hours. She was a lovely person and she will be missed. Before she retired, she kept in touch with me because she would call me from time to time and say "I returning your call Delores.” She was referring to the same message that I had left her months before (smile), nonetheless, she still had it on her desk and was trying to return all of her calls. She was a busy woman wearing many hats. In the end she was reluctant in giving up the ship that she loved dearly. Hats off to a great lady who came from the general area of Lynchburg-Campbell, Virginia to the DC area and while in the DC Government she rose through the ranks, helped a lot of people and left a legacy for us all to remember.

ANOTHER
EACH TIME WE BLINKED,
ANOTHER SWEET LIGHT GOT EXTINGUISHED
THE LIVING TENDED TO TAKE LIFE FOR GRANTED
THOUGHTS OF OUR LOVED ONES ENTERING THE ETERNAL DOMAIN OF GOD NEVER TAKES ROOT IN OUR PRIVATE GARDENS
BUT HERE WE ARE,
ANOTHER LOVED ONE EMBARKED ON A HEAVENLY QUEST HAD ENTERED HEAVEN'S GATE

To the Family of Hilda Mason:
Ms Mason was my second teacher at a 3-room elementary school in Lynch Station, VA. Over the years she was a mentor and friend to my family and me. You can take pride in her many contributions and achievements -- she touched and inspired many lives.

Dear Cousin Hilda:
Your irrepressible and irreplaceable presence will remain with us forever and always.
You and your beloved husband, Charlie, exemplified what it means to be a true and sincere public servant. And by your examples, you showed us all what it truly means to be great.
Love,
Diane

to the family of +Hilda Mason from cousin, carol
your mom was the best. her heart and soul she graciously shared with all.
she helped so many people that her life on this planet is legend.
her living legacy is that she was indeed the grandmother to the world.
when we reflect of the dearness of a human being, it is easy to think of +Hilda Mason first. she was a remarkable human being.
she encouraged education. she supported careers for those who had high aspirations.
she always wanted to know, 'what can i do for you?'
she never forgot to say, "i love you". that meant so much to me. people rarely say that. people rarely mean that. and she meant every word of that.
i enjoyed the fun conversations i was lucky to have with her as i did with aunt mable. i enjoyed making her and aunt mable laugh.
i wish now of course that we had time for more conversations.
it was so nice of +Hilda to take the time on several sunday afternoons after church to have her driver bring her to see me and my mom.
+Hilda would share her favoirte snack of cashews and raisons. mom would share a tall glass of ice tea.
we chatted and laughed until she had to go back to her home.
God Bless +Hilda Mason and her extended family. +Hilda Mason is forever loved and forever missed. peace out, your cousin, carol yvette smith

Dearest Cousin Hilda,
You truly were "grandmother to the world," but know you were like another mother to me. You showed me so much love and I never really adequately thanked you.
Since I believe you are merely absent in the body but alive with the Lord, let me say now to you, "Thank you for your love." Most of all I thank the Lord for giving me to you to love also.
You paid for my schooling at the University of the District of Columbia enabling me to major in journalism. You got me an internship at a local newspaper as a cub reporter. You sent my sons to exclusive private camps, something I was not in a position to do for them.
Most of all you gave me your unconditional love. For that how could thanks ever be enough.
I love you Hilda and always will. I hope to see you as I hope to get there to Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ, too. Amen. Selah. Shout out!

Dear Grandmother Hilda, Thank you for all you did for Antioch School of Law and UDC School of Law. Thank you for fighting the good fight to get statehood for the District of Columbia. Thank you for being an angel on earth. Rest well and say hello to Charlie for me.
