James Campbell Obituary

James Edward Campbell

James Edward Campbell, 62, of Goode, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 14, 2022.

James was a member of Central Baptist church for over 40 years. James worked for years in the deli of Mitchell's Store in Boonsboro, until his health failed him. James' many hobbies included playing baseball, bowling, hunting, and he loved trout fishing. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and LA Dodgers.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother, Timothy J. Campbell (Melissa); his sister, Shirley J. Campbell; his favorite niece, Victoria L. Campbell; and his favorite nephew, Nicholas J. Campbell. Also surviving are a nephew, William J. Mays; close friend of the family, Carol Zimmerman; and special cousin, Joyce Newman. James was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Campbell; his mother, Eleanor G. Stanley; a sister, Angela Mays; a brother, Curtis A. Campbell; also a very special nephew, Cody A. Campbell.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Celebration of James' Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, at Central Baptist Church in Lynchburg, with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.

James was such a wonderful and funny man. Robin and I loved him more than you will ever know. He and Robin loved teasing with each other and I will always miss "My Sharp Dressed Man" that is what I always called him. I know he is sitting in Heaven singing with Elvis. I loved hearing him sing every Sunday. James you will always have a special place in my .
Love always,
Robin and Scottie Stratton
