James Hodges Obituary
He was born on January 11, 1934, in Norfolk, Va., the son of the late Margueritte Boley Shackleton. Sonny was a member of Lynch Station Baptist Church and the Lynch Station Ruritan Club, retired from The Lane Company as the Plant Manager of Plant 4, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammie Jo Hodges and James Harman of Lynch Station; one son, James R. "Jamie" Hodges, III and his wife, Kim, of Lynch Station; four grandchildren, Brandon Lee Hodges and his wife, Holly, Megan Paige Hodges, Amanda Ellis and her husband, Adam, and Samantha Shelton and her husband, Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren, McKayla Hodges, Grayson Hodges, Ryan Hodges, Zoey Monroe, Alex Ellis, Haven Ellis, and Harrison Hedgpeth.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Lynch Station Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Doran. Interment will follow in Mount Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Monday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residences of Tammie, 710 Bedford Hwy., Lynch Station, Va., and Jamie, 480 Powell Rd, Lynch Station, Va.
The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider Lynch Station Baptist Church, 797 Powell Rd., Lynch Station, VA 24571, or Lynch Station Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 100, Lynch Station, VA 24571.
