James "Crow" Musgrove

James Carrington Musgrove, 68, of Madison Heights, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at his residence. Born Sept. 13, 1940, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Myrtle Harris Musgrove and Carl Wooldridge Musgrove. He was the loving husband of Lois McConnell Musgrove for 29 years.

In addition to his wife, Crow is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Taylor and her husband, Chuck, of Madison Heights; a son, Barry Sligh, and his wife, Brandi, of Lynchburg; a grandson, Cody Taylor of Madison Heights; two granddaughters, Robin Taylor of Madison Heights and Devin Sligh, of Lynchburg; a sister in-law, Maggie Musgrove, of Lynchburg; and four nieces, Colby, Carla, Amy, and Sarah.

Crow was also preceded in death by a brother C.F. "Grumpy" Musgrove and a sister, Sue Smith.

Crow was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military he became a self taught electrician and opened his own business, Musgrove Electric. This he ran for 25 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

At Crow's request, family and friends are asked to come to the home between the hours of 3 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, for a celebration of Crow's life.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Hills 3300 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
