Jane Trent Shelton Obituary

Jane Trent Edward Shelton, 62, of 1821 Wards Road, Hurt, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the beloved and faithful wife, of Bobby Anderson Shelton for 42 years.
Born June 5, 1945, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Alton Latane Edwards and Myrtle Shelton Edwards. She was also a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, where she served as the former president of the WMU and a active choir member.
She was a past member of the Grit Ruritan Club where she and her husband Bobby, served as coordinators of the Blood Mobile Drive and was the former insurance manager with State Farm, Todd Carter, Agent. Jane enjoyed shopping, flower gardening, arts and crafts, home decorating and traveling. Jane's life was a true testimony for others and her true desire that others know and embrace her Christ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Shelton Farney and her husband, Tim, of Altavista; a son, Chad Alan Shelton and his wife, Michele, of Altavista; a brother, Latane Edwards and his wife, Jeanette, of Hurt; a sister, Dana Fisher and her husband, Richard, of Hurt; and three grandchildren, Kimberly "Miss Kimmy" Nicole Farney, Sean Michael Farney, and Lilian "Lily" Grace Shelton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, at Monte Vista Baptist Church, with the Rev. Latta Terry and the Rev. Sam Caldwell officiating, with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista, and other times at the residence.
The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials, consider the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Room B-106, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
