Dalton
Lora "Scottie" Robertson Dalton, 92, of Altavista, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was a very loving, helpful and caring mother, grandmother and friend.
Born Sept. 10, 1914, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Pink Robertson and Lora Foster Robertson. She was retired from The Lane Company and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Thurman Nichols and his wife, Maxine, of Lexington, N.C.; three daughters, Faye M. Dalton and her husband, Aubrey, of Gretna, Paula J. Walden of Rustburg and Iris Regina Keesee of Altavista; three grandsons, Aubrey Jay Dalton, Wayne Walden Jr. and Michael Keesee, Jr.; one great-grandson, Austin Jay Dalton and two special friends, Melissa and Britney Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Nichols; five sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, in the Finch and Finch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brady Willis officiating with interment to follow in the Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Finch & Finch Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista, and other times at the residence of her daughter, Faye Dalton, 11178 Rockford School Road, Gretna.
