Madeline Mawyer Obituary
July 12, 1931 - February 21, 2025
Mrs. Madeline Floyd Mawyer, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, February 21, 2025, at her residence. She was born July 12, 1931, in Amherst County, the daughter of the late William and Eunice Jennings Floyd. Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, A.H. Mawyer; son, Kimble Wayne Burch; three brothers, Cecil Floyd, James Floyd and Leroy Floyd; and two sisters, Elsie Jesse and Shirley Gowen. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Madison Heights, VA. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Yale Burch (Jane) of Leesburg, VA and Ronald Dean Burch (Martha) of Palmer, AK; four grandchildren, LCDR Matthew Yale Burch (Danielle) of Visalia, CA, Dennis Yale Burch of Martinsville, VA, Michelle Burch Querin (Oliver) of Palmer, AK and Sean Carver Burch of Forest, VA; and five great-grandchildren, Grace Burch, Paxton Burch, Waylon Querin, Reese Querin and Brigham Burch; and three sisters-in-law, June Woodson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jean Martin of Richmond, VA and Pat Wydner of Amherst, VA. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to William Massie, Mary Loyd, Nancy Zalecky , Catherine Moomaw and Pat Wydner.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Amherst Meals on Wheels.

Many Prayers to Madeline´s family . She and just loved to talk on phone especially after Kimball left the earth for his heavenly home . We shared many laughs and cries over the folks we both knew and loved . She will be missed .
