December 22, 1966 - August 14, 2024

Mark Orion Reed, 57, of Lynchburg passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the son of James Orion Reed and the late Jane Booth Reed.

He was born December 22, 1966, in Lynchburg, VA.

An E. C. Glass High School graduate, Mark worked at the Presbyterian Cemetery, James T. Davis Paint Shop, and Home Depot. He was presently working for Lynchburg City Schools Transportation. Mark served as an Usher at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was a lifetime member.

In addition to his father; he is survived by three sons, Christopher Reed, Jeffrey Reed, and Jacob Reed; and one daughter, Nicole Reed, all of Lynchburg, Virginia; brother James Michael Reed (Rhonda) of Chesterfield, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Aurora and Brandon. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rev. Shawn Hyska will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1022 Floyd Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

Enjoyed talking with him on lunch breaks at He Depot
He was Jerry and Molly Reed's nephew
He kept me up to date on them
They were our neighbors when we all lived at The Crossings
He and I exchanged stories and I admired his taking care of them as a single father
I know they will miss him everyday
