Maxine MORTON Obituary

Maxine Morton

Mrs. Maxine Morton departed this life Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Avante of Lynchburg. She was born Dec. 3, 1935, to the late Gilbert and Geneva Watts. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Love.

Maxine is survived by her devoted husband, Cornell Morton; one daughter, Jacqueline Morton-Johnson; two sons, Ralph Cornell Morton and Timothy Morton; two brothers, Bernard Watts and Curtis Watts; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Holcomb Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Davis Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Her remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends and the cortege will assemble at 1047 Banbury Lane.
