Ossie ANDERSON Obituary
Ossie Virginia Carson Anderson, 92, of Lynchburg, went to meet her Lord on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Crantford V. Anderson.
Born Oct. 18, 1915, in Appomattox County, she was a daughter of the late Aurelius Burton Carson and Alice Thompson Carson. She was also preceded in death by a son, C.V. (Andy) Anderson Jr.; brothers, Theodore Carson and Burton Carson Jr.; a sister, Oneeda Thompson Martin; grandsons, David Anderson Ray and C.V. (Chip) Anderson III; and a granddaughter, Ashton McKenzie Anderson. She was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Ray and spouse, Terry; daughter-in-law, Jeri K. Anderson; sisters, Alma Garrette, Billie Steele, Elsie Womack and Frances Evans; a brother, Clarence Carson; six grandchildren, Doug Anderson, John Anderson, Andrea Buck, Karen Nelms, Dana Ray and Kendall Ray; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Marvin Hiner officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Diana and Terry Ray, 164 Sunset Ridge Road, Forest.
The family wishes to thank Guggenheimer Nursing Home for providing Ossie with tender loving care in her final years, especially Sue Latraga, a true angel on earth.

To Ms Ossie's family,
I do miss my kiss that I got everytime I went into the dining room at Guggenheimer. Ms. Ossie was very special to me. I miss her alot!
