I still get emotional when I think of Pete. Three years ago, I said that there were "no new words" to describe him. I and others have already stated that Pete was wise, walm, witty, welcoming, considerate, caring, compassionate, kind, sincere, genuine, and inspiring. All the RIGHT words and all the GOOD words have been used. What I remember most was Pete's smile. I never, ever saw him without that smile! I recall seeing Pete in the parking lot of a grocery store in the Boonsboro Shopping Center. Most people/friends would just wave and go on about their business. Not Pete. He would walk over to where you were, shake your hand, smile, ask how you were doing, and offer a bit of humor or wisdom about the state of affairs in our city, our country, or the world. I wonder what Pete would think today. I, for one, think he would be saddened, and I am glad he was spared seeing our very troubled world! I will always remember Pete Warren -- a great, GOOD man......

Pete Warren is no less irreplaceable today than he was 8 years ago when he died. Anyone hoping to catch-up with him on good deeds and a meaningful life should accelerate their pace. Indeed, they might just accept the fact that they will never catch-up with Pete. We will not see his like again, my friends!!

To all of his family, he will always be remembered as one of a kind. He was the most caring, considerate, and kind man that I had the privilege of knowing. When I was getting my Master's Degree from Lynchburg College, I was honored to have him as my advisor and professor in several classes. He was a joy to be around and took an interest in everyone he met. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with his family at this time.
