Queenie Myrlene McCormick

Ferguson Gover

Queenie Myrlene McCormick Ferguson Gover, 92, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. She was the wife of the late James Herbert Ferguson and the late Patrick Henry Gover.

Mrs. Gover was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Appomattox County, a daughter of the late Lewis Saunders McCormick and Queen Victoria Almond McCormick. She was a retired change attendant for Central Virginia Training Center and retired supervisor for Courtland Manufacturing and a member of Sandusky Baptist Church. Mrs. Gover enjoyed her volunteer work with the Daily Bread.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy F. Riley of Lynchburg; her brothers, Charlie Reuben McCormick of Appomattox and Curtis Wiley McCormick of Lynchburg; her sisters, Katherine M. Carter of Spout Springs, Iris Elmina Williams of Lynchburg and Mackie Clapp of Monroe; her grandchildren, Tony and Steve Ferguson of Madison Heights; her great-grandchildren, Eddie Cook and his wife, Danielle, and their daughter, Abigail, of Lynchburg, Caroline Marshall and her husband, Steve, of Wisconsin and Mike and Dan Ferguson of Madison Heights; and special friends Dee and Lawrence Daniel of Lynchburg. She was predeceased by her son, Terry James Ferguson, and a grandson, Daniel Candler.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jack L. Brooks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Daily Bread, 721 Clay St., Lynchburg, VA 24504.
