Robert Bruce Obituary
He was born January 19, 1950 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Rev. Robert Aubrey Bruce and Grace Marie Geouge Bruce. He was a member of Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church, a retired employee of Abbott Labs, and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved all animals. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Teresa Bruce of Hurt; one niece, Amber Moffett; and two nephews, Kenneth Horne (Catherine), and Dustin Delappe.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Montel Horne.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023 at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Tim Lane with entombment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors by American Legion Altavista Memorial Post 36 and Gretna Post 232.
The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hurt.
The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, VA 23058 and Operation Smile 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
