Ronnie Moon Obituary
Ronnie Gene Moon, 53, of Lynchburg, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of Susan Hall Moon.
Born May 30, 1956, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late David Joshua and Margaret Carrico Moon. He was an employee of Commercial Steel Erection Inc. and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Ronnie was a 1974 Virginia State Champion Banjo player, who played with such artists as Roy Clark, Bill Monroe, Don Reno, Ronnie Reno, Red Smiley and Jimmy Martin. He was also a former member of "Little George" and the Hill City Cutups.
In addition to his wife, Ronnie is survived by a very special stepson, Zachary Marsh, of Lynchburg; two brothers, Danny R. Moon and wife, Linda, of Spout Spring, and David N. Moon, of Amherst; one sister, Joyce Ann Lambert, of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Meade Cemetery, Madison Heights, with the Rev. Gary Vernon officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, May 5, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.

May TheGood Lord be with Ronnie's family in their time of sorrow. He was a very fine person and musician. I had the privilage of picking with him in the mid 1970's. RIP my friend.
