Rev. The David Reeves

Rev. David Reeves Rev. David Reeves departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 1, 1922 to the late David and Julia Reeves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Reeves, a daughter-in-law, Alice Reeves, three brothers, James, Jimmy and Jasper Reeves and four sisters, Gertrude Reese, Mary Brown, Corrie Dickerson and Julia Chambers.

He was a faithful member of New Dearington Baptist Church until his health began to fail. Rev. Reeves is survived by his son, Daniel Reeves; a stepson, Welma Arnold (Ruth); a grandson, Daniel Reeves, Jr.; eight step-grandchildren, Sharon Hayes, Tony Arnold, Thaddeus Arnold, Daisy Booth, Faye Blair, Wanda Miller, Adrian Manns and Bridgette Akins; two brothers, Carroll and Garfield Reeves; two sisters, Annie Bell Clayton and Edith Reeves and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 2pm, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at New Dearington Baptist Church with Rev. Artemus Dixon, officiating. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery. The family is receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at 237 York St. Family and friends will assemble at the church.
