WYOLENE WHIDDON Obituary
LYNCHBURG, VA - Wyolene Whiddon, 91, of Fox Crest Drive, Lynchburg, VA passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on February 12, 1920 in Fort Valley, GA., to the late Shellie and Alma Irene Philmon; and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg. Wyolene was married 69 years to her loving husband, the late Hayes Louis Whiddon, both were longtime residents of Portsmouth.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Janice Piquette; three sons, Louis Jr. and his wife Elaine, James and his wife Brenda, and Robert and his wife Crystal; a sister Lillian Burnette; three brothers, Dan "Layton" Philmon, Tom Philmon , and Floyd Philmon; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Tom Potter. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel is handling these arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory FM (WRVL), 1971 University Blvd., Lynchburg, VA 24502.

Sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of both your mom and dad. I remember getting to travel to Gatlinburg with Nano (Myrna) and her brothers and their wives. What an honor to get to spend time with each one. Us ladies had a great time shopping. I miss the family reunions. You are all in my prayers. Love Debra (Myrna#3)

Wyolene is very dear to Inez and me. She and Louis took us in as Children when we first married and moved to Portsmouth. We have never forgotten and are so grateful for those and many other rich memories. We plan to see you all at the cemetery. We love you all. Uncle Ray & Aunt Inez.
