Ael,
This is the first time I am writing on your guestbook, but not the first time I have looked at it. I always try to, but I end up tearing up. Oh there is soooo much I want to tell you, but hopefully you are watching over me from heaven :) I just want to tell you that tomorrow I will be substitute teaching for the first time ever..how exciting is that!! I want to call you up and tell you, but this will have to do. Ael, you have been an inspiration to so many and I am going to continue your legacy. Thank you for all that you have done for me, but continue to shine down and watch over all of us. I love and miss you always, your "little sis"

We have stayed in contact through emails over the years. We are very sorry to hear of Aelysche's passing. She is with her own kind now. She is amongst the angels watching over us. Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

i only met aelysche and kerry a few times, but i am so very sorry to hear of her passing. it is so tragic to lose someone as spirited and young, and so loved as aelysche.she taught in my beloved elementary school and i know the children there will carry special memories like i have.i have been through the loss of family and there is nothing more painful..so i think of the mahers alot these days and know they are going through the worst that life can bring. someone told me in my darkest hours that grief is the price we pay for loving someone... we have no choice but to go on, but we are never the same. my sympathies are with you all. time will never erase your pain, but it will also never erase your love and her imprint on this earth

Aelysche brought so much joy to so many. She had such a great sense of humor and made me laugh so often. It was my privelage to work with her and get to know her.
There is no greater pain than to lose a child. There are no words to express the depth of the loss, and the only comfort is in knowing you will see her again.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Mr and Mrs Maher and Family
I first met Aelysche 3 years ago when I student taught at Salzman East Memorial. Everytime I saw her, she always went out of her way to make sure she said hello to me. That simple hello each day made me feel comfortable in the school as a student teacher. This year I came back as a full time teacher, and Aelysche was so happy to see me. I always admired her teaching. She was great with the students, and she was great with the staff. I am sorry for your lose. The students, teachers, staff, faculty and the community of Farmingdale truley lost an admirable teacher, she will surely be missed.

Dear Aelysche, I wanted to thank you for making Tyler's kindergarten year the best school year of his life. He always tells his younger nephews how much they will love kindergarten and how much fun they will have. Tyler is in 3rd grade now and still loves school thanks to the foundation you gave him his first year of school. You would never know how much he would have loved you and your class since he started the year out full of tears and anxiety, but you were always there for him, and for me when it would upset me as well. I always knew he was safe in your arms. You would always call from your cell phone just to let me know he was ok. You always took time out of your day to make sure everyone was ok. On Kindergarten graduation day you made the kids little caps and gowns, how cute and proud they were! And how hard you practiced there little songs so they got it right and made you proud! Tyler just said to me last night; "mom I miss her, why did this have to happen she was such a nice teacher. I think we all feel the same way. You will be missed, especially by all of the children you touched in that school. You will never be forgotten!!

To The Maher Family;
Our son was in Ms. Maher's Kindergarten class three years ago at SEM. As our first child, Ms. Maher was our very first school experience. As probably most moms do, on the first day of Kindergarten I frantically raced behind the bus carrying my little baby to school, determined to make sure that he would be OK when he arrived. I can still see the image of Ms. Maher that morning, wearing a summer dress and a big smile and how patiently and warmly she greeted my son on that first day of a big scary school. I was so grateful for and comforted by that small act. We are absolutely shocked and saddened to hear about her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, may God carry you through this most difficult time.

may the very light that shined from Aelysche in life, be the source of strength, that comforts you and brings you peace.your entire family was such a blessing to me when my dad passed a couple of months back and i will never forget.i dropped by the parlor to bring some changes for my dads mass card and aelysche met me with a smile and stitch, who didnt know me,and acted accordingly, standing between his charge and me.i dont think stitch blinked once.he was probably afraid i might try something and he was ready for action.Well!Aelysche took care of my concerns and was able to make the mass card even better.i dont know the priest who gave the homily but after hearing him talk about Aelysche, his words spoke to my heart and im sure to everyone around about a life although brief, that was full and rich and loving.Father said that Aelysche got it right, what an inspiration to us who overburden ourselves with unnessary stuff and continually try to manage things without gods help.reminds me of jesus,at just 12 teaching in the temple.I think us old folk should listen a little more to our childeren.I want to thank you once again for my dad and if you get a chance,i left a note for him re:Aelysche in guest book JOHN J MAYER.Aelysche and our Pam seemed so much alike ,around the same age, both ele.teachers and both light up a room.I will always remember your beautiful daughter when i look at Pam.may you enter that room that Aelysche found to be her space to allow the lord to take over and meet all your needs.you will always be in my heart and in my prayers.god bless you ken, betty, kerry and kenny.(1 thessalonians 4:13-18)Tom&Peggy Mayer&family.

You giving up soda forlent and your mom finding you updrinking some in the middle of thenight.Halloween trick or treating and those dirt bags egging us and my brother Joe hunting them down lol;) My first cabbage patch kid, thansktoyour mom. My wedding with your Dad there. The Halloween parade when we were kids.Im so so upset that this has happened to you.I willnever understand why. Your body may have left us, but you always had a spirit of light, which I feel remains.. Maybe God knew this earth was not good for you anymore. Dear Maher Family,
I would like to send my family's condolences to the entire Maher family. Words cannot express the hurt we all felt upon hearing this tragic news. Aelysche Maher will always and forever be in our hearts. My son Christian had the privilege of having Ms. Maher as his kindergarten teacher, and I also had the privilege of knowing Ms. Maher as I was a class-parent that year. She was an unbelievable teacher who not only showed so much love for her students, but her students loved her back too, and this was so easy to see. The Farmingdale school district lost an absolute treasure as far as teachers are concerned. It broke my heart to watch my son cry, once I told him the news, but I told him Ms. Maher will always be with you. He is a better student and a better person thanks to Ms. Maher and the lessons she taught and the love she always showed. She made my experience as a class-parent unforgetable, and like I said Ms. Maher will be missed tremendously. In this difficult time you can't help but to feel such sadness inside, but when you think of all the lives she has touched in such a positive way, you can't help but to smile. Ms. Maher you will always hold a special place in the hearts of my family. We love you and miss you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Maher family.

We are so sad to hear of Aelysche's passing. She was a vibrant lady and a teacher who showed warmness and compassion while also teaching effectively. Our daughter was in her second grade class a few years ago and had a special fondness for her. One of the things we loved was her 'communication notebook' which allowed parents to write her a note about any subject. She would always find the time to respond to that note the very same day. It showed how she thought her students and their parents were important. Our daughter will always remember Aelysche with great admiration.

Dear Ken, Betty, Kerry and Ken,
I cannot convey to you the sadness I feel. Your family is a most special one. Never have I met a family with the closeness and love that you all have for each other. No matter where I go, I run into someone who asks if I know "the Maher's". You always leave a mark of happiness on those you meet. I did not have the good fortune of meeting Aelysche far longer before I did. Had I, my life would have been so enriched by this beautiful woman. I read the other notes written by people who have known and loved her for so long - and it proves that God has his way of placing his angels here on earth - albeit for so short a time. How blessed am I for having been able to meet and begin to know her. Aelysche will always be a part of so many lives, and just the mention of her name will bring a smile. I keep all of you in my prayers and will be here for you in any way that I can.

When I think of all the times Aelysche made me laugh, I cannot believe I will not hear her voice or experience her sense of humor again! When Aelysche, Jeanine & Karen were together it was hard not to smile, my "Beanie" will miss her forever, as will all who had the privilege to know her!
My prayers and thoughts are with you now and always.

Aelysche,
I worked with you in the florist so many years ago. You were always so full of life and so extremely full of fun. You used to make me laugh, until I cried. You touched my life for a short time but my heart forever. You had an infectious smile and a laugh that always made every day fun. Especially the holidays. To read about the woman you became made me so proud. My heart breaks for your family, as I know you all were so close. I pray they get through the pain of a loss so enormous. I truly wish more people had your spirit and your beautiful soul. The world would definately be better for it !!! May you rest in peace. To the Maher family, may each of you take comfort in the many lives she touched just by entering a room. Love you Kiddo !! You absolutely will never ever be forgotten !!

Our trio (Ael,Jeanine, Karyn) along with our tagalong Kerry shared so many memories. We caused so much mischief and laughed TONS!! From childhood to marriage and babies we went through it all together. I have never come across someone whose heart was as big as yours and whose confidence entered a room before she did. I'll miss walking Lake Ave and getting an Aelyshe wave from the yellow mini with Stitch on your lap

We would like to send our condolences to the Maher family during this most difficult time. It was such a shock when we heard the tragic news. It was a pleasure knowing and working so closely with Aelysche over the many years since Gina had her 6 years ago. She will be missed by many! May her memories help you get through the difficult times.
