Carol Cunningham Obituary

CUNNINGHAM - Carol Ann, 60, of Bay Shore on August 11, 2008. She was born in Brooklyn on July 31, 1948 to the late Gerard T. and Margaret J. (Higgins) Cunningham. She is survived by two brothers, Gerard L. and Robert E. Cunningham, and a sister Patricia A. Jones. She was predeceased by an older brother Thomas F. Cunningham. Loving sister-in-law of Pamela Cunningham, Kathy Cunningham and Arthur Jones. Beloved aunt of James, Sean, Stephen, Eric, Melissa, Kevin, Darren, Douglas, Daniel and Andrew. Loving great-aunt of Taylor, Emily, Joshua, and Madison. Loving friend of Sandy, Audrey, Mary Ellen, and Sisters of St. Joseph Grace Andrew Callahan and Mary Dolorosa. Also among her earthly loves were her two canine companions, Ryan and Freckles. She had been employed as an office manager in the dental profession and for a heating and AC company. In addition to her love for her family and friends, Carol's passions included designing and creating exquisite quilting and sewing, and collecting ceramic angels and Longaberger baskets. She was active in local quilting groups and was a member of the American Quilting Society. She was a member of St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Bay Shore. Carol was a generous and compassionate person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy (1/4 mile West of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Visiting 2-4:30 and 7-9:30pm Thursday and Friday, August 14th and 15th. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Bay Shore, on Saturday August 16, 2008 at 11:30am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carol's memory to the American Cancer Society.
