Miss my dear friend everyday! So many beautiful memories but the kindest gesture that touched my heart the most was extending an invitation to my niece for Sarah´s Sweet Sixteen!!! This brought such joy to my niece: a favorite
memory that she cherishes until this day.

I just learned of Cheryl's passing today . My heartfelt condolences to her family and extended family . Though I had not seen Cheryl in years I still
Remember how caring and thoughtful she was and interested in teaching me as an intern. We shared many happy times too at Long Beach outside of the hospital . She will be missed and my heart goes out to her family with this sudden loss .

Dr. Carrao was my PCP in Tribeca fo a long time. Now with hindsight I was beginning to suffer from a 9/11 illness. Her care and attention was exceptional. I had a host of problems between 2002 and 2006 that were not recognized as 9/11 related at the time. I have my records and her care was truly concerned and empathetic

I just found out on Monday that Dr. Cheryl had passed. I still cannot believe it. It was a total shock and horrible news. I have been a patient of Dr. Cheryl's for about five years at her Long Beach office.
When I would go to her office I would usually be seen by about 4 to 5 interns who work there.
They would ask me every question in the book about myself and we would do whatever we had to do, and then at the end, Dr. Cheryl would come in.
With her big smile and soft spoken words that made you feel very at ease. She helped me deal with some personal issues that I didn't really tell anyone else about. She was very good at it and I appreciate it so.
This world is a less better place without her.
She will be missed by many. I will NEVER forget her .

You guys even came to my mother in laws house way back when for dinner. We exchanged Christmas cards for years. She was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.

To the family of Cheryl,
I send my sincere sympathy in your loss. I just found out and am so sad. I worked with Dr. Carrao at Long Beach Medical Center. I was the Director of Volunteers and she was a major supporter of our volunteers and Future Physician's Club. She became my primary doctor and more importantly a dear loving, warm, compassionate friend & confidence-totally interested in treating me as a total person. I left Long Beach in April 2017. I will miss her and may her positive and loving heart live on in your memories of her life. With prayers & blessings, Bonnie

I am so very sorry for your loss! I just found out yesterday and was in complete shock! I first met Dr Cheryl Carrao in 2010 when she first became my doctor, at the time I was an out of control alcoholic and addict, she was always so kind and supportive of me trying to get my life back together, and on October 27th 2011 I did and have been sober ever since, coming up on 7 years! I since had moved from Long Beach but continued to travel just to keep her as my doctor! She had seen me at my worst and now at my best! A few weeks ago I spoke with Cheryl to tell her that I had found a golf size lump in my breast and needed to actually switch to a doctor closer to my home and she totally supported me (as always) and I promised to keep her updated on what was going on! Well this week I found out that I have breast cancer and called to tell her the news and I was just devastated and heart broken! We are a week apart in age! I will never forget the kindness, love and support of this beautiful woman and child of God. My prayers go out to her family and friends . God bless you all

I am at a loss for words. My heart is broken. Cheryl was my sister in law and truly my sister for 25 years. I cannot comprehend that she is gone. She was ALWAYS special. Her smile, her laugh and her compassion keep coming to mind. And the hand..."talk to the hand". It's impossible not to smile when you think of her. Cheryl was loved by everyone who knew her. She touched everyone's life with her presence. Whether you knew her well or a stranger she passed on the street you couldn't help but be touched by her grace and compassion. She was our Princess Diana. An irreplaceable soul who radiated a light like no one else. Without a doubt she was the sweetest, kindless, most loving person who tried to help everyone. And, she had an awesome sense of humor. I thank God for having her in my life. I am praying especially for her mom and dad. She was their shining jewel. I can't fathom the grief they must be experiencing. To Vin, Tommy and Sara. You are living examples of her love. She adored you and was so proud of you. Know that she lives in you and will always be with you. I miss you dearly and I'm sending you all hugs and love. And to the rest of us who are left to wrap our heads around this and who also wonder why? This is a lesson in God's love. Appreciate today and all of those whom you love because life is short. Take a page from Cheryl's book of life... Live your life in kindless and love. Be loving and supportive. Try to understand others. Find the laughter and joy in everything and everyone. Just be your best you. To Me, that is Cheryl's legacy. ❤

Dear Carrao Family,
My family and I had the pleasure of knowing Cheryl as she temporarily took over the practice of Dr Denis Donovan in Rye, NY. We fell in love with her immediately. She was so sweet and had a wonderful bedside manner. Always making us feel certain she would give us the best care. We were so shocked to hear of her sudden passing. Please know that so many of us are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest peacefully.

Vin, Thomas, Sara and families,

I am still in disbelief and deeply saddened to hear this news. Words can never explain or express the loss that you all feel or anything can ever replace your wife, mother, daughter or daughter-in-law. Thomas and Sara, I may have not met you, but I can say there is no one in this world like your mother, she was a special woman and she will be with you always. Vin, God bless your family. The love Cheryl had for you is something that can never be taken away. Please hold on to that and know that she is with you always.

Dear Joan, Bill and family:

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. It's such a profound loss for everyone. I can remember the girls playing together in the pool in the back yard.... it seems like yesterday.

Sorrow passes quickly once we truly understand.... The flower that was once our own is now held in Gods hand. (unknown)

May God bless you and give you the strength to move forward.

Dearest Cheryl:
You will be missed by all, may you Rest In Peace.
