I just got the shocking news about Chris this weekend. I want to say to Chris Sr. and Lisa how truly sorry and upset I am over this news. I still picture Chris and Joey as little boys playing. I will always picture Chris's smile, and remember him for the nice person he was. He was always respectful, and sweet when he was in my home. I can not fathom the pain Lisa and Chris must be in, and if either of you read this, please know I'm here if you need to talk. I am leaving my email information on this site. Your boy was a sweetheart, and he will be missed. I just hope his friends will remember him for the nice person he was, and learn from the experience.

My sincerest condolences to Chris's family. My wife and I took this very hard as Chris was a weekend regular at our (David's) house where he was always welcome and somehow always showed up when I fired up the grill. That was a nice trick telling me how good the burgers were so I'd make you two. He was a great kid and I'll miss him very much.

It is truly an honor for us to have known Betz's best friend, Chrispy! Sunshine came into our house whenever he showed up, along with his wit and car conversations. We know he is with Jesus now; our thoughts and prayers are with his loving family and all of his faithful friends. This special young man will be greatly missed but never forgotten! We look forward to Reunion Day.

Chris,
As you know just two short months ago we lost my niece of twenty eight years. This poem was sent to my brother and his wife from a good friend from their church. This poem was also read at her grave site. I hope it comforts you as it did for my brother and his wife. With all our love and support,
Roger, Rhonda and Hannah Kesterson

MY CHILD
"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine," He said.
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn when he is dead,
"It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
"But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

"He'll bring his charms to gladden you, but should his stay be brief,
"You'll have his lovely memories, as solace for your grief,
"I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
"But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.

"I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true,
"And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you.
"Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
"Nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again?

I fancied that I heard them say: "Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
"For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness; we'll love him while we may,
And for happiness we've known forever grateful stay.

"But should the angels call for him much sooner than we'd planned,
"We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

Christopher was unique. That is sometimes the greatest of all compliments. There was no one like him. There will never be another. The shear number of mourners really tells the whole story. Chris was loved, and will be missed. That is, until we see him again in the next life. And we will.
