Clarence Jolley Obituary

Clarence M. Jolley September 5, 1934 - December 2, 2013 Danielson - Clarence Moses Jolley, age 79, of Danielson passed away on Monday at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born in Central Village on September 5, 1934, son of the late William and Katherine Frances (Ide) Jolley. He was the husband of Eleanor (Peckham) Jolley; they were married June 27, 1959. Clarence served in the National Guard and was president of Jolley Precast in Danielson. He enjoyed raising beef cattle and working outdoors improving his land. In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by his children Dennis Jolley and wife Mary, Brenda Vincent and husband Timothy, Carol Boorse and husband Sam, and David Jolley and wife Stacie; his sister Matilda Strouse; grandchildren, William Jolley and wife Lindsey, Jill Herring and husband Michael, Heidi Vincent Sheldon and husband Jason, Jeremiah Vincent, Matthew Vincent and wife Jessica, Daniel M. Jolley, Michael Jolley, Emily Boorse, Gabriel Boorse, Josiah Boorse and Amie Boorse, four great grandchildren Owen Jolley, Andrew Jolley, Claire Herring and Jackson Herring and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Leo, Frederick and Daniel F. Jolley and sister Madelyn Elliott. A Celebration of Clarence's Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Chapel, Canterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Calvary Chapel, 175 Westminster Road, Canterbury, CT 06331 or Atwood Hose Fire Dept, 185 Wauregan Road, Wauregan CT 06387. Clarence and I go back to when he was still in high school and we often played our form of football when he was able to come to my fathers house between the time he was working and I was free from the chicken houses. Clarence was one of my first friends and had a special place in my heart. I will miss him and I'm sure he will go to special place.
