Daniel Mahon Obituary

MAHON-Daniel C., age 81, on November 9, 2006, of Lynbrook, L.I. Devoted husband of the late Therese (nee Galvin). Beloved father of Daniel (Patricia), Brian (Margaret), Mona and Kevin (Jacqueline). Adoring grandfather to Kelly and the late Taylor. Predeceased by his brother Patrick (Bridget), and sisters Catherine Krieg (Anthony), Helen Medler (George), and Mary Boyle (Bernard). Also survived by sister-inlaw Bernadette Galvin. Favorite "Uncle Buddy" to many nieces and nephews. Proudly served in WWII 1943-1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign, 2015th. Ordinance Maintenance Co. Retired from the NYC Police in 1971 after 21 years and Retired from United Airlines in 1987 after 15 years of service. Also ushered at St. Raymond's R.C. Church and was a member of the Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens. Family will receive friends, 2-4 and 7-9 PM, Saturday and Sunday at the Perry Funeral Home, Inc., 118 Union Avenue, Lynbrook, L.I. Funeral Mass, 9:45 AM, Monday at St. Raymond's R.C. Church, East Rockaway, L.I. Burial in Calverton National Cemetery. Family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, to the American Diabetes Foundation, www.jdf.org.
