Dorothea Andrews Obituary

Andrews - Dorothea Tuttle (Dot), aged 99, died peacefully as she slept on Saturday, December 7th. She resided most recently at The Bristal in Mt Sinai. Previously she lived in East Setauket, and in Syosset. She is survived by her sons Bill Andrews (Susan), Mark Andrews (Kathy); and

three grandchildren, Ryan

Andrews, John Andrews and Katy Andrews (Justin). She was predeceased by her son Joel. Dot was a graduate of Skidmore College, with a focus on art. She married, raised three children, and later completed advanced degrees in Education and Special Education. She enjoyed a teaching career at Lindenhurst High School. She was also a potter and sculptor, a wonderful cook and a talented host. Dot had a fine eye for design and decor. She loved to dance and was a happy patron of many of Long Island's best night spots. As her life slowed down at The Bristal, she still relished good gossip, bingo, and a glass or three of wine with dinner. Dot led a full life, and she will be missed by family and friends. Please donate in her memory as suits your remembrance of her.

Just the other day I was thinking about Mrs. Andrew´s and her friend, Mrs. Anderson. May she rest in peace.
