Frederick Poelker Obituary

POELKER - Frederick S. of Bethpage, NY was given up to Our Lord on October 15, 2015. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father to Frederick J. (Laura) Poelker and Susan M. (Mark) Greaker. He leaves behind four grandsons, Justin R. Poelker, Russell F. Greaker, Samuel J. Greaker and Daniel W. Greaker. He is survived by brothers Bernard (Marlies), Richard (Christine), Robert (Barbara) and sisters Helen DiMarco and Anita (William) McGonigle. Also survived by his sisters in law Kathleen Natalie, Peggy Kramer, Barbara Poelker, Florence Poelker and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Ann Murphy, brothers Joseph and Henry and sister Dolores Poelker. Fred was a member of I.A.T.S.E Theatrical Union, Local #1, NY, NY. Fred was a fourth Degree member of the Pope John 23rd Council and was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Memorare Council. Leading an active life, Fred was an avid golfer and fisherman, leaving behind many friends he made along the way. His most recent love was cruising with Pat. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road (1 mile north of Southern State Parkway, Exit 29). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, St. James R.C. Church, Seaford, Monday 9:15 AM. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, L.I. Visiting Saturday 7-9:30 PM and Sunday 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 PM.
