So sorry to learn of Mrs. Harper´s passing. I took art classes at her studio when I was a child. She was such a kind soul. I´m in my 30s now but I still fondly look back on those times.

Mrs. Harper was a blessing in disguise. She was and is a sweet caring woman full of many talents. My one son went to her for art lessons and got to explore his artistic side and my other son got to experience her musical side through piano. She opened up our eyes to a creative side for both boys, which we have continued through today. She was so easy to talk to and very down to earth. She will definitely be missed within the communities in which she taught and will be a strong part of these towns. The towns that she taught truly lost an angel, but will always be remembered as such. We send our condolences to her family.

Mrs. Harper gave my daughter art, piano and violin lessons through much of her youth. She was a great teacher and a lovely woman. Sayville was lucky to have had her in our community for so many years.

I met Ms. Harper 9 years ago when my daughter had her first piano & violin lessons.
Ms. Harper is the most down to earth person I ever met. She was more then a music teacher, she was a part of our family.
Our friendship went from teaching, learning, and having music lesion that went WAY past out time slot (we could chat for hours). We spoke about all aspects of life in general. When Lizzie asked Ms. Harper to be her sponsor for confirmation, she was so taken back - it was a beautiful moment.
I had planned to make a winter wonderland for my daughter on Christmas Eve- it came out more beautiful then I expected! Now I get it - Gail was helping me ......
Our condolences to the entire family ~ Gail was an amazing person!

Mrs. Harper was one of my most favorite people and a mentor to me. I grew up taking art and music most of my life with her. I recently took my son to her for piano and was so excited for that. I followed her from the studio in bayport next to the pizza shop (and about 4/5 sayville moves, I've helped her pack a few times) She was everything to me during my childhood to my 30s. Most of my happiest memories involve her. I am so so sad to hear she passed. I will never ever forget her. :-( :-( <3

I am so sorry for your loss. My daughter Melissa was taking art lessons on Saturday mornings and absolutely loved it. Your Mom was so talented and such a sweet woman. Since the pandemic the only thing my daughter really truly missed was her art classes with your mom. She will be missed.

My daughter Sofia took piano lessons and some Art Lessons with Mrs. Harper . She was always so nice to both of us , every time she praised my daughter and make her feel special .
We are so sorry for your loss , we all will miss her.
This is picture Sofia made for Mrs. Harper of both of them playing piano, she made a photocopy, frame it and gave one back for Sofia to have.
We keep it on top of the piano .
With our deepest sympathy.

Mrs Harper is a light, a joy, a creator of beauty and love, as well as a kind and patience teacher. She provided a space physically, mentally and emotionally for so many to discover so much about themselves and life. She has had such an incredibly powerful impact on my life through being her amazing self. Lessons I carry with me forever. Her love and impact has been felt by countless people and lives on through us. I am beyond lucky and honored to have had shared time and space with such a wonderful soul.

A painting Ms. Harper painted for me illustrating my love for ballet and music.

I took piano and violin lessons with Ms. Harper from age three to when I left for college. Words can not express how much of an impact she has had on my life. She gave me the opportunity to teach lessons at her studio when I was in high school. She has had a huge influence on my own teaching style that I have today as I am a school teacher. As I continue to play my piano today, I will always remember her as I have her painting above my piano and this picture of me during a piano lesson on top of the piano. (Pictures attached).

I am so sorry to hear this news. I have fond memories of Gail Harper as Mrs. Fitzer, my art teacher at St. Mary´s many years ago. In more recent years my mother was a student of hers at her studio. Condolences to Joel and the family.
