George Bird Obituary
(Kathleen), and the late
Douglas Turner. A loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also survived by many other family and friends. A proud member of the United States Navy. He also served as Director of Plant Operations at L.I.J. Hospital. Family will receive friends Tuesday, 2-5pm and 7-9pm, at the McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home, Inc., 385 Main St., Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 11am, at St. Edward in Syosset. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org. www.mccourtandtrudden.org

I just learnt about George´s passing yesterday!
It hit me so badly. He´d reposed so much confidence in me from the first day I met him in 2014...
He was a kind, loving man with an exotic team spirit..., may his memory be a blessing to all of us!

My deepest sympathy to the Bird family on the their loss. I was so saddened when I was notified about George. He was a great man, respected in many ways. We had many great times working together at LIJ as managers. We worked hard and laughed harder, George had a great sense of humor. I left LIJ over 18 years ago but I would always call George around hunting season to discuss his plans and/or his success's. A tremendous loss, a patriot. Always in my heart my friend.
