Gloria Riina

Riina - Gloria (née Minsky), age 91, of New York, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born Gloria Minsky on May 17, 1934, in London, England, she lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. Gloria pursued her education in the field of pharmacy at the University of Manchester, where she developed the intellectual curiosity and strength of character that would define her throughout her life. Her journey from London to New York reflected the adventurous spirit that carried her through nine decades of rich experiences. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Riina, and her cherished sons Louis Riina, MD and Joseph Riina, MD. Though she faced these profound losses with characteristic courage, Gloria's legacy lives on through the family she so lovingly nurtured.

Gloria is survived by her son Howard A. Riina, MD, and daughter-in-law Anne Riina. Her greatest joy came from her role as grandmother to nine grandchildren, Samantha Riina (and her husband Steve Wilson), Jenna Riina, Nola Riina, Elizabeth Riina, Georgia Riina, Joseph Riina, Nicholas Riina, Lauren Riina, and Dylan Riina. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. Gloria's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love created a foundation that will continue to strengthen and guide her family for generations to come. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
