I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts of my wonderful father. He was one of a kind and I am so lucky to be his daughter. He was a true gentleman in every way and has inspired many to follow in his footsteps. I know he is at peace with God and is seeing my Mom and Brother Blaine and Elenor and Clint. My home is empty without Dad and I miss him terribly. Even his buddy Fritz is sad and doesn't understand why Pop Pop is not in his Lazy Boy with a dog bone for him. They sure were a pair. I’d like to take this opportunity to say a few words on behalf of Red’s extended family.
I’ve known Red Sherrill for most of my life, originally as a friendly grandfather figure and my first fishing buddy, He and his wife Vesta shared a Duplex in Deerfield Beach with my grandparents, and his close friends, Clinton and Eleanor Lunt.
Later I knew him as Grandfather, when he married Eleanor after they both lost their respective partners. That blessed relationship literally saved her life and gave us ten great years with her we would have lost. Thank you Red.
My initial reaction to Red’s Passing was one of great sorrow. For myself personally, and for those who never had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by this true gentleman. He has set a standard for personal responsibility and kind hearted service to others, that I fear no-one will ever match. I strive to be a better person for Red’s influence in my life.
Now that I’ve had time to reflect on his loss, my sorrow is tempered by joy. I share in the joy of Red and our loved ones that gone before (Vesta, Clinton, Eleanor). They have waited so long for him to join them in sweet reunion. If there is a Heaven, there is certainly no-one more anticipated or welcome Than Holton Sherrill.
Red,we love and miss you greatly.

Dear Pat,
A mighty oak has fallen and the forest will never more be the same.
The Vogelsberg family (including the Robert Happs and The John Chalifouxs) kept a special place in their hearts for Red. His positive spirit and happy attitude was an inspiration to all of us. We especially cherished him after his marriage to our Nana.He brought new life and amazing happiness to her in her last years.
We will miss him but never forget him. May he rest in peace.

From a Fellow Lion from Freeport, NY, know that Red is in good hands and good company with all the Lions that have gone before us.
From reading this one can tell what a great man he was. I did not know him personally, but, I do know that Lions are a unique group.
Rest in peace Red.
