We were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Ian. To his wife, his kids, & extended family-- maybe you can find solice in this story about a gem who was given to all of you& taken away too soon for a reason that can only be explained by the fact that he was just amazingly kind! We had moved from Manhattan to LI & were& still are dealing w our middle child's health problems. We went to many places seeking out a bday location & came across The Little Gym( old pt wash loc) & there was Ian who made us feel comfortable& happy while promising us a party that will not only celebrate our son's bday but to celebrate the fact that he was just released from the hospital& we would have a 2 wk break till we went back again. Ian told us not to worry about anything; he did it all for us, & said that "as a father he would never want to see his kids suffer or be in pain" . To say the least my husband & I were in tears bc we knew what we have to deal w but here was Ian who loved what he did but displayed it in every way possible. You just know that when you speak to someone like we did w Ian how much love he had for his family; ESP his kids! Stay strong, remember all the good times,& always know he will forever be protecting all of you while he's now an angel from up above! With our love& prayers.

I went to summer camp with Ian in the late 70s early 80s. He was a picture of health and a superb athlete. Although it has been 30 years I was shocked to find out about his sudden passing. My heart goes out to his family

Jill, I wish I had words of comfort for you... It's crazy to think we just had dinner together a few weeks ago and were talking about you coming to town with him for the meetings for the next two years... I'll miss running up his bar tab and having the "can you believe you work for corporate?!" conversation. My heart is with you, the kids and Mel & Arlene. Always,
Jen

Jill, I can only offer friendship. I know your pain is deep and dark. I feel for your loss. This journey you are about to embark will have many pitfalls and the grief will seem unyeilding. Only you will understand what you feel, only you will understand what you must do. Peace will find you again one day. Just know if you need a friend to talk with, you have many who care.
