James Alexander Farrish

FARRISH - James Alexander, of Ridge, formerly of Oceanside, in his 88th year, peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 19, Devoted husband of the late Virginia. Survived byhis 7 children James Thomas (Natalie), Robert (Susan),Richard (Sally), Eileen (Gene) Kaczynski, Jeanne Evensen, Mary (Dennis) Macaluso, Virginia(Brian) Pfeifer, 26 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. James proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII aboard the William P. Biddle. He carried out the deployment of Marines in Pacific, European and North African campaigns guaranteeing the success of those operations. James was recognized for 35 years of service to the Gulf Corp. refinery in Island Park, He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside, Sergeant in the Nassau County Auxiliary Police Dept., and member of the Omega Gamma Delta Fraternity, Beta Gamma Chapter. Family will gather to receive friends andrelatives Tuesday 2-4 p.m. &7-9:30 p.m. Religious services Tuesday evening. Closing prayers Wednesday 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
