Jerry Como Memoriam

JERRY COMO
10/18/43 - 10/28/04
Today I celebrate your life.
Can you still feel how much
I Love You?
Your Absence has gone through me
like thread through a needle.
Everything I do
is stitched with its color.
Until we are together again,
I am forever yours, Pat

34 years ago today, our story began. How could we have known how soon it would end? I am comforted by so many beautiful memories. Wait for me.

We're Apart, That's True,

I'm Christmasing With You."

As we gather together as a family to celebrate Thanksgiving, there is an empty place at our table and an empty place in my heart. Until we are together again, I am forever yours.

Though I never knew Jerry, I met his son, Michael (Nov. 2004) and was at loss of words when he told me about his Dad. Now after experiencing a death in my family as well, I can relate to the everlasting pain. My Cousin, Scott DeWitt has a guest book as well (which this is how I came across this guest book) and an anonymous person wrote a beautiful saying which I'd like to pass on....

"Whenever you are sitting in a park or on your porch, and you feel the wind blow across your face, know that he is blowing you a kiss. Remember him and smile"

Every time the wind blows, I think of what this 'stranger' said and I do smile...thinking he's letting me know he's standing or sittingnext to me. It's amazing how someone you don't know can touch your life and I hope I did- by passing this on.

My thoughts & prayers are with you all.

"How am I supposed to live without you

Now that I've been loving you so long

How am I supposed to live without you

And how am I supposed to carry on?"

525,600 minutes, how can you measure a year in a life? This year without you has been so hard.

My arms ache to hold you, my eyes long to see you, and my heart has a void that cannot be filled. Until we are together again, I am forever yours, Pat

If I could go back in time and change things I would of spent more time with my father. I miss the relationship we had and what it could of been. All the trouble I caused....

Everyday is different and no day will ever be the same.

I love you dad and I hope you finally have peace of mind.

We little knew that morning

that God would call your name.

In life we loved you dearly

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

you did not go alone;

for part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,

your love is still our guide,

and though we cannot see you,

you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken

and nothing seems the same,

but as God calls us one by one,

the chain will link again.

There have been a lot of "firsts" since you've been gone - be sure to ask Pat about them. We just went to look, honest!

Send me letters from above

Send me strength, send me love

Such sweet love

Sing me songs that echo in my head and in my heart

That's where you are

I will always remember meeting Jerry. I was only eight and Jerry brought me a whole strip of lollipops. I didn't have to share - they were all for me. Being one of 5 kids, this was tremendous.

As an adult, what I remember most is that Jerry was a happy man. Truly content and happy with his life. Making the best of whatever came his way and making jokes through it all.

My kids loved their Uncle Jerry and we all miss him very much.

Hey Jerry, I hope Mom isn't still telling you the vegetable soup story...
