John Joseph Connell

CONNELL - John Joseph 87, born and raised in Huntington, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 26, 2024. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and former member of the Huntington Manor Fire Department. John was the owner and 2nd generation of M.A. Connell Funeral Home, which has served the Huntington area for over 100 years, along with his late brother, Peter. Beloved husband of late Betty Ann (nee Class). Devoted father of Michael (Anne) Connell and Deborah (Nicholas) Berghela. Cherished grandfather of Krysti (Josh) Naparstek, Nicholas Jr. (Caitlin), E.J. Connell, Grace Connell and great-grandfather of Oliver and Myles Naparstek and Nicholas Berghela III. He is loved and will always be kindly remembered by his family and many friends. Visitation will be at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass will be held Thursday, 10 AM, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Centerport. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Church in Huntington. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to VNS Hospice of Suffolk or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory.
