Dear Janet,
It has been so many years since I have seen you and John; back in the days of MHT. But I will always remember John's smile and his positive attitude about everything. Probably my fondest memory is singing oldies with John and other MHT employees. John did love his oldies. And I will remember him as the man who changed dance partners in High School Gym class because Barbara Streisand was too short for him. (or was that just one of his stories!!) Remember John will always be with you. You and your family are in my prayers.

To Janet, Matthew and Johnny

Jackie was the warmest and most sincere man I have ever met. He had such an appreciation and enthusiasm for not only life but for all he touched along the way. I remember the days we would walk together to Erasmus Hall High School and how positive he was about everything. He maintained that attitude through is life while most of us lost his enthusiasm of youth. Jackie was always a leader. Out of all the friends we grew up with, Jackie was the one who made sure we all stayed in touch with each other. He was the first of our crowd to buy a car, the first to marry and the first to have a child. He was also the best man at my wedding.

When my wife was diagnosed with cancer Jackie would call her and tell her about his successful prolonged battle. He was instrumental in providing her with the courage to fight it and not give in. To this day I believe she lived an extra four years because of him, that was what he was all about; helping others.

To you he was always John, Jack or Dad. To the gang from Brooklyn he will always be “Legs”; not only for his stature but for showing us all how to walk through life. Just remember that like us you are so fortunate to have shared your lives with him.

Janet, Johnny, and Matthew, my deepest sympathy. I only met Jackie one time but his prayers and warm words for me when I received my cancer diagnosis will never be forgotten. What a wonderful man to reach out to me when he was fighting his own battle. I will never forget my "Sloan buddy"! I have prayed for him the last year and a half and will remember him in my prayers still. What an inspiration!
With love,Laura Campbell (Denise's friend)

Janet, Johnny and Matthew, you have our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. Uncle Jackie put up the fight of his life. He inspired everyone with his remarkable attitude and undying appreciation for life. He left a little piece of himself in all of us, as he taught us to live life to its fullest, and never take anything for granted. Christmas' at Uncle Jackie's will remain to be a fondest memory. We love you all and will miss Uncle Jackie (and his beautiful smile) forever!
