Not being able to attend Grandpa's service was a hard thing for me to accept. When I begin to hang my head thinking about not having Grandpa with us anymore, I can just hear his voice in is New York accent that is so distinct to us West Coasters saying, 'What are you crying for? Dont cry for me.' Knowing that Grandpa is back together again with my Grandma, his Meg, gives me all the comfort in the world. Nobody can ever take away the ever resting image that is etched in my memory of seeing Grandma and Grandpa sitting up on the hill at Santa Margarita High School watching me run the 300 hurdles, which they did so often.

I am so sorry that I was unable to attend the funeral. I am comforted with the knowledge that Grandpa is now with Grandma and that one day I will see them again. I am so thankful for the time that I did have with them and will carry those memories with me forever.

Gramps will be forever remembered....the one thing that I feel very strongly about is that Gram and Gramps are the epitome of love. I can only hope that I will go through life with someone that loves me as much as they have loved eachother. I hope I'm that lucky.
Sincerely and with much love,

Jim -- your dad was a great track advocate and a champion in the eyes of the children and athletes he guided. I remember him him as a person who always pitched in while I was a new official in both Nassau and Suffolk. RIP
