Kathleen Marie Beck

1951 - 2018

BECK - Kathleen Marie, of Medford, N.Y. died on August 3, 2018 of Heart failure. Kathy was born on September 29, 1951 in St. James, N.Y. In early infancy she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This condition did not deter her from her numerous academic achievements. She met the physical challenges as she bravely pursued her studies and career. She graduated from Smithtown High School with honors. In her senior year she was selected as a representative to the Presidential Class Room in Washington, DC. Her first degree was a BA in Political Science from Hofstra University. Then she earned her MS in Asian Studies at Seaton Hall University. She then returned to Hofstra for her MBA degree. At Touro University she earned her Law degree. Prior to her retirement, she was an executive administrator at OTB. Kathy was predeceased by her parents Lois and Julian Beck. Her surviving family members are her brother Michael J. Beck, an aunt & several cousins, six of whom served as pall bearers. A Memorial Service was conducted at the Moloney Funeral Home in Center Moriches., N.Y. She was interred at the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton, N.Y.
