Marlyn Perry Obituary

PERRY - Marlyn, it is with profound sadness that we must announce the passing of Marlyn Duke Perry on July 23, 2025 at the age of 97. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Reba and Harry Duke; husband Daniel George Perry; brothers Ramon and Milton Duke; daughter Karen Perry; and grandson Ryan Perry. She is

survived by her children,

Stuart (Cynthia), Ross

(Roberta), and Robert (Susan);

grandchildren Jarrod (Susan),

Craig (Elizabeth) Eric, Brooke (Joe) and Jake; great-

grandchildren, Christopher,

Daniel, James, Marc, and Nicholas; numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. Her journey took her from Philadelphia to Brooklyn, and ultimately (via Cryders Point in Queens) to 39 Hamilton Dr., in Roslyn where she raised her family. Her last years were spent at North Shore Towers, where she passed peacefully and comfortably. Through it all, she was an extraordinary example of a traditional jewish mother of a certain era. She was also nontraditional in many respects. She was an accomplished sculptress and (as the first female president of a conservative synagogue in New York) a trailblazer far ahead of her time. She is missed already and will be loved forever. Graveside burial, New Montifiore Cemetery, West Babylon, NY, Monday, July 28th, at 11am. In lieu of flowers etc., any donations in her name should be made to the Ryan Perry Foundation.
