Mary Gale

GALE - Mary Ethel, of Bay Shore, NY, on September 28, 2025 at the age of 81. A graduate of Harding College in Arkansas, "Methel" was a proud elementary school teacher with the Islip School District for 35 years, a passionate volunteer at the Fire Island Lighthouse and the Seatuck Environmental Association, a renowned singer with the Berkshire Chorale, the Babylon Chorale and Islip Music Lovers Club, and a dedicated and founding member of the West Islip Church of Christ. She is predeceased by her loving husband Walter. She is the beloved sister of David, Mark, Jonathan, Robin Kirk, and the late Barbara Ann. She is also survived by her devoted cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation was private. A Celebration of Life will be held at the West Islip Church of Christ at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the West Islip Church of Christ, 600 Montauk Highway, West Islip would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Overton Funeral Home in Islip.
