Michael J. Dolan

Dolan - Michael J., of New Hyde Park, NY, a former Newsday and Union pressman for over four decades, passed away February 11, 2025, at age 80. Proud U.S. Army

Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart medal recipient. He personally spearheaded efforts to redevelop the Veteran's monument at New Hyde Park Memorial Park. His efforts also recognized New Hyde Park as the first village in Nassau County to be a Purple Heart Village. Honorably served as Chairman of the Nassau County Fire Commission prior to serving as Vice Chairman of the New Hyde Park Fire Commission and was a former Chief of the fire department, demonstrating remarkable commitment during his 50+ active years as a volunteer fireman. Passionate member of the Nassau County Operation Wounded Warriors' Project, Firefighters Burn Center Foundation, Firefighters Children Museum, the New Hyde Park Elks Club, Cellini Lodge, Lions Club, Leisure Club, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW Post's in New Hyde Park, Albertson, and Franklin Square, the Military Order Purple Heart USA, and in all local fundraisers and events.
