My deepest sympathy to Dr. Calandrillo's family, friends and staff. All 3 of my children were his patients. My oldest John(25 yrs old), had a special connection from the first time we met him in Mercy Pediatrics. I'm sorry to have found out so late about Neil's passing. My 2 daughters were patients of his for many years during which we became friendly. We often told dog stories since we both shared a love for labs and other breeds. I would like to wish the family my most sincere condolences, even at this late date. He was a very good guy and I will miss sharing dog stories with him.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of our wonderful Dr. Calandrillo. Dr. Neil has been our pediatrician since the moments our children were born -- Nora in 1998, and Declan in 1999. Dr. Neil has done so much for our children and our family. From his incredibly detailed instructions when we took our 1st baby home from Mercy hospital, to his no-nonsense straight talk when our 2nd child ended up in the NICU. His words gave us courage then, and we knew we could count on him no matter what. Whether it meant meeting us at the emergency room with a sick infant, or dealing with the often frightening trials and tribulations of caring for two small children. Dr Neil was always there for us with his rational, commonsense approach. He treated our kids like his own. When they got hurt, he truly took it to heart. His silly ties and jokes always made the kids smile, and he addressed even our craziest new parent fears with great concern. We were so lucky to have known him, and to have had him as our doctor for all these years. Our deepest sympathy to his family on this tragic loss. We know how much he must have suffered, and we find solace in knowing he is finally at peace. He will live on in all of our hearts, and in the hearts of all the children he cared for. so very sorry to hear about dr neil's passing.. My son is 11 and dr neil had been his pediatrician since he was born. we were very fond of him. prayers are with his family..

I was saddened to hear of Neil's passing. He was a wonderful father,husband and pediatricain. I miss seeing his smiling face when he came to SNCH to see his newest patient's in the newborn nursery. he is with the angels and our Heavenly Father now and will always watch over us. I pray that our Heavenly Father gives his family and friends comfort.

My family is very sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. "C". Dr. Calandrillo has been my children's pediatrician since they were born in 2002. Even when they were not feeling well they loved to go and see him. He truly had a way with children. We send our deepest condolences to his family.

I am heartbroken by the passing of Neil Calandrillo whom we knew for years as a friend and pediatrician for Marc (our grandson),and through his wife, Tere', who worked with Piero for years at South Nassau Communities Hospital. I remember him as a kind and gentle soul. I send my deepest sympathy to Tere' and his entire family.

We were so sad to hear of Dr. Neil's passing. He was our pediatrician from 1995 until 2006 when we moved to Delaware. We made many trips back to NY the first year and a half of our move, and a few times one of the kids got sick. Dr. Neil always saw them and told me never to hesitate to contact him if we needed him during one of our stays. He was a great guy. From our family to yours, our sincere condolences on your loss.

We took my grandaughter to se Dr. Calandrillo. He was so very kind and one could tell of his love for children. His advice and care made us and Natalie feel comfortable and cherished. Our condolences are extended to his family.

My daughter saw Dr. Calandrillo for several years before we moved. We have yet to find another pediatrician or practice that would compare with the level of care she received there. We are so sad to hear about his passing and hope his family finds some solace in knowing that he has touched many lives and will always be remembered.

We were so saddened to learn of Dr. Calandrillo's passing. He had been our son's pediatrician for 18 years and was a wonderful man and doctor. Dr. Neil was always so caring and kind. I always enjoyed talking to him about our kids. Madeline was the same age as our youngest son, so they shared the same milestones. The major difference was that he was living in a house of females and I lived with all males! Dr. Neil was so proud of his family and always spoke of you all so lovingly. We are truly sorry for your loss and you are all in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in eternal peace and may Our Lord comfort you during your time of grief.

Dr. Neil was a wonderful pediatrician who not only took care of his patients but helped their parents as well.
We met Dr. Neil 17 years ago when our first child was born.
It was very reassuring to have a pediatrician who was experiencing being a parent along with us.

I was so saddened today when I heard the news of Dr.Neil's passing...He was there from the first of my extremely premature daughter Gianna, up through her emergency open heart surgery in July 2007. Gianna thought he was the funniest everytime he tickled her belly and tried to calm her fears....We know that all the angels are singing to him right now in heaven...our thoughts and prayers are with your family.....He will be sorely missed....

My daughters and I were saddened to hear that Dr Neil has passed away. We remember when he became Dr. Martin's partner, and are thankful for the great care he gave to so many children over the years. We are so very sorry for your loss. Dr. Callendrillo and Dr. Martin, visited both of our children, Tatiana 19 and Andrew 16 in Winthrop hospital when they were born and we have been with the practice ever since. What a terrible loss. He will be missed and has been while he was ill. May he rest in peace knowing all the good that he has done for our children.

Dr. Neil, came into my families life right after my son was born and needed emergency care and surgery. He helped us thru a very trying time. He was not only our pediatrician he was my mentor. Our deepest sympathy to the Calandrillo family. I cannot put into words how saddened we are to hear of Dr. Calandrillo's passing. He was such a wonderful man as well as our daughter's pediatrician. I remember all the detailed instructions he gave us at the hospital the day we brought our oldest daughter Caitie home. He too was to become a new Dad soon after. When he spoke of his girls his face would light up. The love he had for his family was so apparent. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers.
